Hello there, from the Outpost!!

Chocolate brown is still the en vogue color in fashion, home decor, and everything paper.  CardGallery/aotimelessbutterfly4x4.jpgHow can we take the essence of this rich hue and apply it to our stamping?  Kelly Burton, designer for Artistic Outpost, has a style which emmulates the depth and warmth invoked by this styling trend.

Here is a mouthwatering piece of Kelly's called "Timeless Butterfly". We have featured it this month in the Projects section of our website.

There you will find step by step instructions as well as detailed ink supply list to help you add that richness to one of your cards, ATCs, or the like.

CardGallery/c791.jpgOnce you see Kelly's recipe for using Distressed Inks, you'll be applying this technique to any of your stamped pieces.  You can see more of Kelly's work in our galleries or by visiting her blog.

We have been counting down the days to introduce you to owebassets/KeeperPlatecopy.jpgur newest plate here at Artistic Outpost.

Take a look at "Keeper"; our homage to the lazy, hazy, daze of summer. This plate is meant to recall those days at the lake, catching your first fish or just plain ol' lying around, 'cause it's too darn hot to move around.

This collection of deeply etched red rubber, includes 7 nostalgic images. You get a little boy holding his first catch, a trout, a fishing lure, a summer cabin landscape, a versatile field grass border stamps, and our lovely "Betty" who looks mischievous and fun while carrying her can pole.  We couldn't resist finishing up this plate with the "You're a Keeper" sentiment which we know you'll get a kick out of using in your cards, scrapbooks, or mixed media projects.

We have a special gallery of samples by our design team, so please look at what all can be done with our newest plate.  Click on this link to view the gallery or type this address into your browser bar. (http://www.artisticoutpost.com/id25.html)

Summer is (un)officially here!!!!webassets/HeroPlate.jpg
(in the Northern Hemisphere)

The official first day of summer is not for a few weeks.  However, the weather is warm at the Outpost, and even though we are spending more time outside, we are still enjoying creating and designing new stamps in the air conditioned studio.

In honor of all those who serve their country in times of war and peace, we created the new "
Hero" plwebassets/Picture.jpgate. It features an US Marine from WWII and an adorable Boy Scout along with 6 other nostalgic and vintage images.

For those who have loved ones serving in the military, we salute you, and we would love to see you incorporate THEIR picture into one of your cards, scrapbook pages, OR heritage artwork. We would love to do a "tribute" page on our website between now and July 4th featuring your heros and she-roes. Send us a photo / scan or your work, and who you are honoring, and we'll feature it in a special gallery.

We have also lowered our "flat" shipping rate to $5.50 for all US shipments and $12.95 for international.  We do this because most of our items can be mailed in a flat rate envelope. If your order requires additional shipping charges, we will invoice you separately for those. Remember in the US, shipping is free for orders over $50 and internationally for those over $150.

Have fun, and enjoy your summer...
