February Project 2008 - Amazing New Technique
I was talking to a friend of mine this past weekend who also owns her own stamp company. We were discussing how "protective" we are of our design teams, and I just want to say CardGallery/Picture2.jpghow much I love my designers.  Gerrie Johnnic has knocked this month's project out of the rubber park.  Her take on creating faux metallic backgrounds with simple "ingredients" will sure to be one of your all time favorites.  Check out the projects section of the website to learn how to make this.  Seriously, isn't it stunning???

New Stamps Coming Soon!!! Pre-order Now for a Special Deal...

Hey y'all...(for those not from the South, that is Southern slang for "you all" :)webassets/FunnyFarm.jpg

I wanted to let you know that though we were not at CHA last week that we were still busy designing and coming up with some great stamps that will be ready to ship in early March.  I introduce to you: Happiness & Home.  Happiness is a grungey butterfly plate that just says fun, funky, and spring!  Home is an ode to the country...but still with a twist...cause you can be in the city, but still feel like you are on the FUNNY FARM.  I do every day.  I hope you like the truck too...can't you see this one working for collage type pieces as well as more "masculine" cards.

We're doing something new this time. We're offering a pre-sale special...If you pre-order both plates, we'll send you one sheet of EZ Mount Cling foam (8.5" x 11") to mount both plates FREE. Pretty cool, huh?  Just look in our store for "Pre-order, Happiness & Home", which will be priced at $22. This sale continues or the next week.

Take Care...

CHA Show is Here!
Ahhh...to be in the sunny Anaheim. As many of you know, the largest craft and hobby show in the world descends upon Anaheim this week, where most of the world's craft suppliers debut new wares and cater to the retail giants, distributors, and mom and pop stores.  I have been to one of the winter shows and CardGallery/minimasterpiece.jpgone of the summer shows. Artistic Outpost is not quite big enough to set up a booth besides Hero Arts or Art Gone Wild (Stampers Anonymous), so we will not be in attendance this year....HOWEVER, we are well represented.  Candice Windham, Roxi Philips, and Ronnie Goff, all AO Design Team members, will be participating in a designer showcase at the show.  They have produced all kind of beautiful items that demonstrate their artistic points of view.  Check out Roxi's blog to see sneak peeks of what they have created.  While you are cruising Roxi's blog check out other design team members...Gerrie Johnnic & Lisa Somerville are always showing some beautiful stamped works of ART!!!

Have a wonderful day, and enjoy this beautiful work created by Lisa Somerville...featuring our Mini Masterpiece stamp collection...

Inspiration for our stamps...

Many people ask us where the inspiration for our stamps come from.

Are they people we know? Did we buy photos from an antique store?  Sometime the people that inspire our stamps are not only people we know, but rather folks to which we are related.

When I found this picture of my mother, I knew I wanted to make a stamp ouwebassets/HairCollage249.jpgt of it.  This collage was one that I completed last fall, before the stamp line came out. It was recently published in the February issue of Somerset Memories.

This is a photograph of my mother getting a perm when she was about 2 or 3 years old. Her mother wanted a little girl with curls, and this was the method of torture used to achieve that look.  One look at this photo...and I knew it had to be an ATC.  It is still one of my favorites.
